This notice explains how Retire From The West handles information when you browse our guides, use the calculator, or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email support@retirefromthewest.com.
Your calculator answers
The calculator first processes your age, income, savings, budget, and preferences in your browser. When you submit the results form, we also save those answers on our server to prepare your personalized report. Before submission, reloading clears your answers. After submission, an access token in this browser tab can restore your report from the server for up to 30 days. Paid report access is designed to last 90 days after purchase. Closing the tab clears the tab-session token; it does not delete the server record. Treat the report and its access token as private.
When you unlock a report
We require your first name, email address and phone number, and collect your questionnaire answers, separate marketing choices and their recorded version and timestamp. We save the report price shown, when you reach the offer, and whether you express interest. We use these records to prepare your report, understand demand and remember your choices. Email checks reject known disposable domains and domains without mail routing; they do not prove inbox ownership. We do not send your address to an external email-verification service. Free results unlock on the website; submitting the form does not promise an emailed report.
The form is processed by our website and stored in a database on our hosting service, Hostinger. Email offers, WhatsApp offers and matching with Meta advertising audiences each have a separate optional choice. Providing a phone number alone does not authorize marketing. If you opt into Meta audience matching and we activate it, we may share hashed contact identifiers with Meta to match your account for relevant advertising; hashing does not make the information anonymous. We have not activated automated WhatsApp campaigns or Meta audience uploads. Signing up for marketing is separate from unlocking your results. You can withdraw that permission by emailing us, or by using the unsubscribe link in an update we send.
Browsing, cookies, and your choices
Our hosting service processes technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser details, and server logs to deliver and protect the website. We save your cookie preference in your browser so we can remember your choice.
Optional analytics and affiliate tools load only after you choose “Allow optional.” If Google Analytics is configured, it helps us understand page visits and site usage. We do not send questionnaire financial answers, names, phone numbers, email addresses or report access tokens as analytics events. With optional analytics enabled, we measure report-offer views and interest by price variant. Travelpayouts Drive can add or update travel links and recommendations on our editorial pages and measure referrals. These providers may use cookies or similar identifiers and process information about your device and browsing activity.
You can choose “Essential only” and still use the calculator and public guides. Open “Cookie choices” in the footer to change your decision. Withdrawing permission stops future loading after the page reloads; it does not undo information already processed. Your browser settings also let you clear existing cookies and site storage.
Read the Google Privacy Policy and Travelpayouts Privacy Policy for their practices. When you follow an external booking or product link, that provider's own policies apply.
Advertising and commercial links
We may earn a commission from qualifying bookings or purchases made through our links. This does not change the calculator's match scores. Our site includes Google AdSense technology so Google can review the site and, if our account and site are approved, serve and measure advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and similar identifiers to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure ads, subject to your location, choices, and applicable law. Google’s certified consent message handles advertising choices where it is required. You can also reopen “Cookie choices” in our footer and use your browser or Google ad settings to manage available controls.
Google explains how information from sites that use its services is handled in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Ad availability, format, and personalization can vary. We do not send calculator financial answers, report access tokens, names, email addresses, or phone numbers to Google as ad-targeting parameters.
Information you send us
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. We use them to handle the request. Please do not send passports, bank statements, payment-card details, or medical records.
Sharing and retention
Information is handled by the service providers needed to host the website, process email, and provide the optional tools you allow. Providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell our report email list or send it to relocation companies for their marketing.
We retain report requests and correspondence for as long as needed to provide the service, handle requests, maintain records of permission, and meet applicable legal obligations. Retention varies by purpose; backups and technical logs may follow separate schedules. You can ask us to delete your report record or withdraw marketing permission.
Your rights and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or object to certain uses. Contact support@retirefromthewest.com from the address associated with your request. We may need to verify that the information belongs to you. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Children and changes
This website is intended for adults planning retirement abroad, not children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate. We will post material updates to this notice with a revised date.
